Quality of Life For an Aging Dog

Rosie was a dignified, 12-year old collie whose body was failing around her. Julie called and said Rosie was very agitated and they were thinking of helping her with euthanasia.

In an animal communication, Rosie said she wasn’t ready to leave yet. Rosie’s hind legs barely supported her and sometimes she walkedin circles until she fell down. She was panting and showing signs of stress. I suggested that Healing Touch for Animals® (HTA), a form of energy medicine for animals, may help Rosie energetically prepare herself and make her transition easier. We had no expectations.

Rosie and Elaine

On a beautiful spring morning, I sat by Rosie’s bed in the flower garden and focused on removing energy blockages and grounding her feet strongly to the ground. Rosie fell asleep with her head in my lap as I used HTA. Julie took a photo and told Rosie, “You are going to help other pets when Elaine tells your story.” Five days later Julie sent me an email.

“Since your visit, she’s been doing SO SO much better.  She has been stabilized, as you said she might be. She can actually walk a short distance now without falling, and she can get up from her bed more easily too.  She is no longer panting and uncomfortable as much, in fact she’s relaxed most of the day now, and rests so peacefully — even through most of the night.

“Your treatment has given her a real boost, and I am truly amazed.  Before it, as you know, it seemed that 85% or more of her days were in discomfort or agitation.

“Thank you a million times over.  When guidance [Julie’s spirit guides] came to ‘get help for Rosie,’ they knew you could do this for her.”

I went to see Rosie and was amazed at her improvement. She got out of her bed unassisted, walked across the uneven ground to see me and Hobbes, and walked back to get a drink. She walked around for over 10 minutes. I felt such joy. Although I had experienced Healing Touch for Animals®, Rosie really taught me the power and the possibilities of letting the energy work without any expectations.

For over a week, Rosie and her family spent wonderful quality time together. Then Rosie had a fast decline and the family decided to have a vet come and help Rosie with euthanasia. When I visited them, they told me about her gift to them of a wonderful week and how peacefully she crossed the Rainbow Bridge.

Rosie, thank you for being my teacher.
