Animal Bridges Announces New Intern!

Animal & People Bridges felt strange and lonely without a Wheatie to help me. It was different without Hobbes. He left a huge void in our lives. When would Animal Bridges announce a new intern? It seemed so far away.

In June I received an email that changed our lives. A litter of 5 Wheaties was born in Nebraska and one had our name on him – Blue Boy (color of his collar.)

In July the fireworks started exploding in our hearts. Blue Boy started showing soft curly hair like Hobbes. Yes, I would soon have a partner in the business and in our life.

In mid-August, we drove 3 days to pick up this little guy. True love at first sight! We met his family including Dad, Auntie, 2 other adults Wheaties, and 2 siblings. Two siblings left for their new homes. A full-fledged Wheatie party!

As I picked him up, I said “Munchkin.” What puppy isn’t cute and endearing? Would the name last?

He quickly became a great traveler. The 3 days on the road to home were easy. He slept well in hotels and the car. Saw lots of people. He likes cars – a plus in our family. Ate outside in a park – loved laying in the grass.

One morning as “Munchkin” observed the new world around him, a neighbor pulled up and said “Gizmo!” Hmm, I started thinking…

Gizmo fit the naming requirements – 2 syllables, easy to say, seemed to fit our guy. It is a name he can grow into.

One night as we fell asleep, I asked “Blue Boy” the ultimate interview question. I asked him “which name do you like better – Munchkin or Gizmo?” The quick response was “Gizmo!”

Gizmo is a fast learner. Outside he immediately figured out the path through the front door, pass the dining room, into the kitchen and sit by the cabinet. Yes, where I prepare his meals.

He knows most of our property and knows the paths he can take. He LOVES the Astro turf and spreading out on it. He was raised with real grass.

This weekend after his second vaccine, he’ll go to the Prescott Courthouse Plaza for real grass.

He passed other qualifications quickly. Likes big dogs and wants to play with them. Thunder is just another noise. Watches as John vacuums. (Hobbes attacked the vacuum.)

Laid back and wants to learn. And already wrapped us around his growing paw.

Gizmo stepped into the Intern position with a great attitude. He photographs well. Is active and plans to go on many adventures.

As the Intern, his room and board is provided. We’ll discuss additional benefits later.

Join Gizmo as he learns about the business and how he fits in. I’m sure lots of photos and videos are in his future.

It’s great to have an enthusiastic intern!

It’s great Gizmo sleeps a lot because I’m talking and listening to lots of pets including chickens and ferrets. Wondering how I can help you and your pet? Schedule a free 15-minute consult.
