Cat Peeing Problem Resolved With Animal Communication

Marie

Kris Scherer of Coon Rapids, Minnesota contacted me after a friend recommended Animal Bridges. Kris was very frustrated with her wonderful, 7-year old cat Marie, who acts like a dog. The cat’s behavior was very upsetting to the family.

Kris wrote in an email, “Our trouble with her peeing on things is why we are seeking your help. From as long as we can remember, she has not been good at peeing in her litter box. We’ve taken her to the vet several times to rule out any type of health issues but it was concluded that it was a behavior issue and not a health issue. It used to be more sporadic but the last five years it has gotten much worse. We have tried many things…”

Kris sent me questions to ask Marie during an animal communication. Marie realized the family was upset with her peeing. Here is part of our conversation:

Elaine: Yes, they are very upset about your peeing. Why aren’t you using the litter boxes?
Marie: I don’t like the litter. I don’t like it. I don’t like the feel. I just don’t like it.
Elaine: Is this the reason you been peeing outside the litter box for all these years?
Marie: Well it is part of the reason.
Elaine: And the rest of the reason is what?
Marie: Well, I don’t like being around other animals. I know they are very nice and kind to me. I just want to be a cat in my own home with no other animals.

We continued our conversation:
Elaine: Would you like your very own litter box with special litter in it? I can’t guarantee the other cats would stay out of it.
Marie: Yea, I like that idea. I like that idea. I’d like to try it.
Elaine: Would you be happier in a home without other pets?
Marie: Well, I would have said yes a few minutes ago. I realize I really like them around. It is just I like having my own space. I could go to another home without pets.
Elaine: You know that means you would be leaving Kris and the rest of the family. Do you realize you would not see them again?
Marie:  Yes, I realize that. I think I would like to leave the house and be the only cat.
Elaine: Okay. Are you sure you want to make this decision right now?
Marie: No. Can I have another chance?
Elaine: Well, that is up to Kris. Why do you pee on things and not in the litter box?
Marie: I said I don’t like the litter and I don’t want to share. It is that simple.
Elaine: Why do you pee on clothes, furniture, etc?
Marie: I’m lazy.

Finally Marie agreed to work on her peeing:
Elaine: I am being very real. Kris said, we love you so much but we want you to understand that if this continues, we will have to give you away to some other family.
Marie: Ouch, ouch, ouch. I’m not ready to leave. I want to stay. I want to stay with the family. I don’t want to leave.
Elaine: So are you taking responsibility for the peeing outside the litter box?
Marie: Yes.
Elaine: Are you willing to work with us on this problem?
Marie: Yes.
Elaine: Will you listen to my suggestions?
Marie: Yes. I want to stay with the family. They are the only family I know. I love them so much. I am being a brat. I am so sorry. I didn’t realize it was so important. I am so sorry. Please forgive me. Yes I want to stay. Please help me.

Several months after our animal conversation, Kris sent this email:
“We ended up putting a litter box in the upper level of our home and Marie is doing much better. We hope and pray that this continues! We really didn’t want to put another box upstairs but it seems to be helping.

She has not had one accident since the litter box was put there! We are so happy!”
