What do you tell a barn cat, who adopted you and your house roof, so she understands to behave? Jennifer Wells of Cumming, Georgia contacted me.
“We have an emergency. I have a sweet kitty, Miss Two Can Sam, who mostly responds to “Kitty”… who keeps waking us up in the wee hours of the morning. She’s an outdoor kitty (and probably won’t migrate in doors because she’s been a barn kitty for 7 years and has outdoor manners).
Could you, would you, have a conversation with her, please? I don’t know if she’s uncomfortable, or if she’s just hungry. She’s always hungry. She was starved when she came here.”
Sweet Kitty and I had a wonderful animal communication. She was confused. She wakes up hungry and makes noise on the roof letting Jennifer know she was awake. Unfortunately it is way too early for the people of the house. Sweet Kitty and I resolved the problem and she understands she must wait for the household to wake up.
Jennifer sent me this email:
“Hello Elaine,
I have to thank you for all your help with this sweet kitty.
Miss Two Can Sam, Poopadoop, Sweet Kitty, etc. is the most amazing cat. She has totally embraced your conversation with her. And additionally, since the communication, she’s really settled into her role as resident mouser, chief nap-taker and all around cuddle bug. This semi-wild, barn kitty has become super affectionate and lovely. I’m pretty sure she didn’t know what a lap was when she first came around. She now won’t leave mine if she can help it.
Once again, communication seems to open a pathway of trust. This little kitty has thrown herself into our lives in new and unexpected ways. She hugs us. She is overjoyed to see us. She was always a sweet little kitty who greeted us on the porch, but now she seems to know we’re hers.
Thank you for your help & time!
Thank you,
Jennifer Wells”

This is so sweet!
Sweet Kitty update. This amazing barn kitty has migrated inside. She prefers to sleep inside and stay outside all day…with a window open, the choice is hers. She has the best manners and is the sweetest kitty. Thank you, Elaine, it was your communication with Miss Doodlebug, Two Can Sam, Sweet Kitty that began the transition from full time out of doors cat to indoor outdoor as she pleases kitty.
Jennifer, I am thrilled Sweet Kitty had moved inside. She knew she would have a great life with you. Enjoy.
