The one year anniversary of Chivas’ death was approaching – he was the Golden Retriever and best friend of Laura Lindboe. After waiting so long, Laura decided it was time to hear from him. With the internet, Laura found Animal Bridges’ website and contacted me about an animal communication with Chivas. After receiving Chivas’ photo and Laura’s questions, I talked with Chivas.
Chivas was so excited to talk with me. “It has been so long since I talked with a person. It is a very different world I am living in now. I miss the human contact of people and especially Laura.” He continued to explain about his death and how “my body was failing around me.” He was surprised with all Laura’s questions and answered each of them.
He was so grateful for all she had done for him and especially with difficult decision of letting him go. He said, “It was an honor to be with you for so many years. Thank you. I know you were very upset and it was so painful for you. Laura, it was a gift. It was the best gift you could possibly give me. I know it was gut retching and I love you for doing it for me. Thank you.”
Shortly after Laura read the transcript I emailed her, she sent me the following:
“OMG Elaine!!!!! I’m SO thankful for this, I can’t even explain! I haven’t stopped crying since I opened it (started even before I read it!), this is so special to me! Thank you from the bottom of my heart! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I’m so happy that you’re able to communicate to him, and also to hear that he’s doing well now!”
Then Laura asked me to talk with Hoosier, another one of her Golden Retrievers. We had a delightful conversation and he made laugh with “I’m getting very distinguished with my muzzle turning white. I think I look pretty cute and sexy!” Hoosier talked about missing Chivas and how Chivas comes and visits him.
Since the animal communications brought so much peace and joy to Laura, a month later she decided to give her mother a gift of an animal communication. Her mom’s dog had died recently. Laura surprised her mother with a transcript from Gus, the gentle Golden Retriever. Her mother loved hearing from Gus again.
Laura emailed “My mom LOVED the transcript! To be honest, she was a little skeptical at first, but when I told her about the conversations w/ Chivas and Hoosier (and how accurate/spot on they were!), she understood more. She immediately started crying, and identified w/ everything you said! She was so grateful for the opportunity to hear from Gus, he was her special buddy!”
Suddenly seven weeks later, Laura emailed me at midnight that something was wrong with Hoosier. For some reason, I couldn’t sleep and my computer was on! I saw Laura’s email — Laura and her husband were in the process of relocating. Her husband and dogs were in Chicago, while Laura was working in Minneapolis.
I felt her fear and panic from her email. “I’ve been missing them [the dogs] TERRIBLY and I just heard from my husband that Hoosier is having a great deal of difficulty standing up, walking, eating, etc. My husband tried to take him outside earlier and had to carry him!, which is never a good sign, and when he got out there, he couldn’t stay standing and ended up falling down, etc.” Her husband was taking Hoosier to the vet in the morning.
I knew I had to talk now and it couldn’t wait until the morning. I talked with him and he knew something was wrong. He also said to tell Laura he would see her that weekend (Laura was going to Chicago on Friday). I sent her his message.
She replied 4:30 a.m. with “OMG, Elaine, thank you SO much! I haven’t been able to sleep all night, I’ve been crying for hours now, and then I saw this!!!!!!! This is so wonderful to hear!!!!! I can’t wait to hear what the vet says, but your conversation w/ him makes me feel SO much better!”
Over the next few days we were in contact by phone and email. Laura arrived in Chicago on Thursday. Friday morning Hoosier woke me up (Elaine) at 6 a.m. and wanted to talk. He said he wanted to leave earth soon. I sent Laura an email. She responded, “Thank you for talking to him this morning, we had a tough night, so I’m not that shocked that he was calling for you!”
Laura and her husband spent the weekend with Hoosier saying their goodbyes. I was honored to help everyone as Hoosier prepared to cross Rainbow Bridge.
