A few months ago, the dog and cat had a quiet house all day. Suddenly, everyone is home! Learn the 7 tips to help pets during COVID Limbo.

Remember how you felt at first? How about your dog or cat?

Everyone handles stress differently. The same is true with our pets.

For the past several weeks, everyone’s schedule has changed. Many pets don’t understand what is happening.

Recently pets are telling me they’re confused or acting out. They ask, “What is going on? Why are they all home?”

Pets thrive with routines. They know when you wake up and when you leave the house. They enjoy their walks and play times.

Just like us, pets feel the stress.

Before the COVID Limbo, dogs and cats enjoyed their quiet time and being alone. Now they are getting attention all the time! For some, all the togetherness is too much!

No one knows the future of the COVID Limbo – Stay At Home or go back to the office. Since we don’t know the future, how can we help our pets?

What can you do to help them now and in the future? Here’s 7 tips to help pets during COVID Limbo and beyond:

Let your dog chose his quiet spot and honor it. When he’s resting in his spot, everyone must leave him alone. Cats need quiet time too.

Teach the children and adults to respect when the pet is resting.

Take breaks and play. A 5-minute game of “Find the Toy or Treat” or chase helps everyone smile. Sing while you play too.

When you leave, tell your pet you’re leaving and when you’ll be back. Give a special treat or a toy.

When home all day, give your pet room to enjoy the house too. Be sure there is quiet time for all.

Create and follow routines of when your pet eats and plays. Try to take one walk at the same time daily.

When you sit with your cat or dog, put your phone and devices aside. Give your pet your full attention even for a few minutes. They love it!

Animals are always excited to explain how they are feeling and what they want. Through an animal communication many issues are quickly resolved by listening to pets.

Wondering how your pet is doing?

It’s a perfect time for to ask her what she needs with an animal communication.

Ready to hear your pet’s thoughts on the COVID Limbo life, click here.

The post 7 Tips to Help Pets During COVID Limbo appeared first on Prescott, AZ Animal Communicator | Animal & People Bridges.

Related posts:

Calm in the Eye of the Storm: Tips to Calm Your Pet

Hot Weather Tips for Pets

Tips to Reduce Stress for Your Pet During The Holidays

<post-id xmlns="com-wordpress:feed-additions:1">5252</post-id>

Holidays and Quality Time for Your Pet

Elaine Garley

Alleviate behavior issues

Pet Tips

TTouch®

pet behavior

quality time for your pet

Tellington TTouch

Tips for Pets

TTouch

The holiday season is on us, and this year it is suddenly shorter! Or at least it seems that way. Talk about adding stress! So how do you manage the holidays and quality time for your pet?

Of course, we all have the same amount of errands, mailings, and cooking in less time. Hobbes pulled out his warm coat early.

Now exhale! Yes, we are stressed and we are sharing it with our pets.

So let’s all stop for a minute or five minutes. Exhale. Clear your mind by listening to your breathing. Turn off the mind chatter of “I need to…”

Now for some quality time for your pet.

Go over to your pet, and slowly exhale again. You may try yawning while you sit with your dog. Very slowly blink your eyes as you sit with your cat.

Exhale quietly again. Be with your pet. No phone or gadget. Slowly stroke your best friend. If you know TTouch®, do a few TTouches® on your pet and yourself. Try ear slides. Exhale.

As a way of giving thanks to your pet and yourself, try to spend five minutes a day enjoying this special time with your pet. You will feel better and so will they!

The post Holidays and Quality Time for Your Pet appeared first on Prescott, AZ Animal Communicator | Animal & People Bridges.

Related posts:

Calm Yourself and Your Pet for the Holidays!

Tips to Reduce Stress for Your Pet During The Holidays

Gratitude, Pet Quality of Life, Love

<post-id xmlns="com-wordpress:feed-additions:1">2421</post-id>
