Summer is in full swing. We love being outside and so do our pets. Unfortunately the number of lost pets seems to be increasing daily. Six easy tips to help you bring your lost dog cat home faster.

In the past week, I heard of 3 lost cats and 2 dogs in the neighborhood. I also heard of a lost dog that didn’t have it’s micro chip information updated. He went home with the person who found him!

During summer the doors are open more. It only takes a push with a nose to open some screen doors. Or someone forgets and leaves the gate open. And sometimes the cat or dog gets curious and gets lost.

As pet parents we must do all we can to help them get home!

When I see a pet without a collar and tags, I get sick to my stomach. My first thought is “How will I get it home?”

Animal Bridges Demonstrates TTouch Video

In August 2011, Elaine of Animal Bridges demonstrated Tellington TTouch® at Puppy Love Caring Canines annual fund raiser, Wag-N-Wheel Walk. The Animal Bridges Demonstrates TTouch Video is below.

Elaine demonstrated several Tellington TTouch® techniques with a dog who had a stressful incident at the vet’s office. She demonstrated a TTouch® Body Wrap, a TTouch® basic touch, and shared the TTouch® philosophy.

  • Does your pet have pain or act scared sometimes?
  • Ever wish you could tell her something she would understand?
  • Wish you knew what he was thinking?

Every people/pet team has unique needs. Often, a combination of approaches will serve both the client and the pet best. It really depends on each individual animal and person’s needs. All methods are gentle and loving.

Each session is as unique as your pet and each session with your pet can be unique from her previous sessions.

It’s easy to set up your sessions, just contact me here or call me at 612-237-9580. I’m happy to help you explore the options and find the best solution for your unique situation.

“Elaine has been very helpful and supportive since my adoption of a very anxious dog. Her t-touch sessions and ongoing communication has helped us both. She has great suggestions and is very responsive to my frantic calls.” – Lynnea Forness, Minneapolis, MN

Simple Way To Calm Your Dog & Resolve Behavior Problems

calm-your-dog

calm-your-dogDo you get frustrated because your dog is jumping, barking, or generally misbehaving? Do you get tense as you tell your dog to sit or to walk calmly? Does your dog have anxiety?

Are you getting tense reading this? Now exhale. Yes, just exhale and feel your shoulders lower. Did you realize you were holding your breathe? Now exhale again.

I share this tip with many clients and at the dog training center where I volunteer. When you exhale, you relax and you may notice a big change in your dog. Your pet picks up on your stress even when they may be causing the stress. Cats also respond well to exhales.

I learned this tip at Tellington TTouch® training when many dogs were barking in response to one dog barking. The instructor told everyone to exhale. We did and the dogs became quiet.  Since then, I when I working with animals or feel stressed, I exhale. I found I can exhale any time and any place, even when driving in heavy traffic or in an important meeting!

Dog Scared of Other Dogs Gains Confidence with TTouch®!

dog-scared-of-other-dogs

dog-scared-of-other-dogsOn a morning walk with Hobbes, my Wheaten Terrier, I met Sophia, a beautiful, calm 6 ½ year old black lab with Heidi. Sophia walks beautifully off leash and was off leash as usual. As we approached, Heidi put the leash on Sophia which is very unusual. We stopped and talked. As Hobbes approached Sophia, she jumped backwards and barked angrily. She was not happy. She was a scared dog. Heidi told me that recently a dog bit Sophia on the ear. Since the ear bite, Sophia, a very confident dog, is afraid of other dogs. I said I could help her and gave Heidi a business card.

About a month later, Heidi called me and said Sophia needed my help. I worked a hour with Heidi and Sophia using Tellington TTouch® techniques. Before I left, Heidi was doing the TTouches® and Sophia was enjoying the touches.

Now fast forward two months. Hobbes and I just crossed the street into Linden Hills Park and a black lab came running to us. The tail was wagging and it was playtime! I realized it was Sophia and yelled to Heidi, “When did this happen?” Heidi replied, “A week and a half after seeing you!” Heidi used the techniques I taught her. Since our appointment, Sophia is back to her confident self and is happy to see and play with dogs again. I walked home with a huge smile after receiving the gift of another happy dog due to TTouch®!
